The skilled trades at Eagle Harbor also provide preventative, corrective and scheduled (lay-up) maintenance for the vessels. Annual lay-up maintenance is pre-programmed and a dynamic Gantt chart system allows quick reassignment in response to changes in vessel schedules. The ability to update a master CMMIS database located on a central server with information from each vessel greatly improves efficiency of annual lay-ups.

On-vessel maintenance is managed using an independent CMMIS database that is routinely synchronized via wireless data transfer with the land-based database. On-vessel engineers manage all necessary maintenance and spare parts requirements unique to their vessel and submit work requests to the port engineering office directly from their vessel’s CMMIS database. Maintenance requests may be created, forwarded, commented upon, approved, planned, assigned, scheduled and completed in a back and forth process that is accomplished seamlessly from vessel to LAN and back as required via encrypted wireless spread spectrum radio transmission. Work assignment to Eagle Harbor trades, outside contractors or dry-dock resources are determined and scheduled as needed. The process keeps all involved “in the loop” as to progress on work assignments.
