Background

A prototype, state-of-the-art MMIS was developed for the Boston Haul Road, along with the development of the database elements for the entire Central Artery/Tunnel project. This project includes a review of construction contract plans and specifications, project O&M manuals and other contractor submittals for development of inventory identification standards; development of survey procedures; establishment of maintenance standards; identification of spare parts, maintenance materials, vehicles and special tools and instructions; procurement of computer hardware/software/hand-held equipment and barcode materials; development of field reference manuals for maintenance staff; and initiation of support services and additional follow-on training as required.
